Summer 2008

Just checking in…
Im sorry its been so long since I was last online. As many of you know I live on a mountain off grid with limited power, although a local ISP in the nearest (25 miles) town of any size is planning to shoot a wireless signal to a little town just past our hill so by next year I may be able to get a connection here at the cabin. Until then I have to wait till I can hitch to town.
As many know my happening to land where I did and meet the family I did was in fact no accident. I was trying to figure out how I got here and why I am here doing what Im doing. Its taken me the entire summer to put the pieces together to my puzzle.
It seems that God, yes God, directed me to leave Michigan and to go west. While searching for a place to land I looked at Washington but decided to go to Oregon instead, only to end up here anyhow. God also directed me to this mountain and to Jeff, my patient, who told me that God told him that I was the person to help him even though there were several people wanting to be his caregiver.
His medical grow was great but with the short season we only get one crop as we have to start inside in the spring and then put them out to finish.
I left Michigan with a purpose, to follow the path that God put me on and to grow medicine. In less than a year I have found where Im supposed be.
Here in a few weeks I will be getting ready to maybe go to Tonasket, maybe.
The mountain takes a lot of my time and I may need to stay to get ready for the cold winter temps and the deep snows that will soon be upon us.
With winter comes more free time for me to go to town and keep in touch with all of you.
God Bless, Love Peace and Chicken Grease!
Tokin.
